9/365 ten months of Polly

Dear Polly,

You have officially been outside of the womb longer than you were in. It feels so strange and yet so natural.

At ten months, you love crawling, cruising around the room and playing with your toys. You say mama and dada and sometimes even hello! You understand what no means, but we are always aware to follow it up with an explanation of why you can’t do whatever activity we’ve just implored you to stop doing. Like eating bottle tops, or vacuum cords, or dirt from the floor, or dried cranberries that you found under the couch.

You love water and bath time, playing outside and eating actual food. Mimi and Jenna and Daddy are your favorite people but you love me the most ;)

You dislike getting your diaper changed, changing clothes (both of which stop you from moving) and being in the carseat for longer than 40 minutes. You don’t sleep through the night, but you’re doing better about only waking up once or twice now for a midnight snack. We still bedshare, even though we are slowly trying to incorporate the crib into our sleep.

Your Daddy often says, ‘we’re so happy you came to live with us” and it’s true. We love you so much, the joy you have brought to our lives is indescribable. We really are so, so happy you came to live with us.
