Because of my anxiety, the thought of feeding Polly table food absolutely terrified me when she was younger. Starting when she was four months old we gave her purées on occasion and that was scary enough for me. I have struggled a lot with fear of her choking and me not being able to get her airways cleared, but I’m making more of an effort to pray for safety while she eats and educating myself on the Heimlich maneuver and watching her closely. She has gagged a few times but never choked, thank God, and so my anxiety has lessened A LOT and now meal time is pretty fun.
For breakfast she either eats baby oatmeal and bananas or cottage cheese and cut up peaches or any other fruit I have on hand. Sometimes I put peanut butter in her oatmeal and she likes it!
For lunch (which I typically forget to eat) we have leftovers from supper. Usually it’s a steamed or boiled veggie for her and a small portion of meat. If we have had pasta then she gets pasta cut into small pieces
And for dinner she has whatever we are having, only modified if it has something I can’t easily make into a small portion for her.
Her favorite foods are bananas, sweet potatoes, carrots, broccoli and pasta. We recently discovered she does not enjoy goat cheese. 😂 She always gets water with each meal and she is still breastfeeding and will until she shows signs of wanting to stop.
