The 411 yard sale started in 2003 and has been held annually ever since then, stretching more than 250 miles and three different states. It is a sight to behold and when you find a good booth, you really find good stuff. I once found a box of keys allegedly from a Swedish castle, I’d say the owner of the keys was lying but they were priced at 200 dollars apiece for the largest ones so maybe it wasn’t just the Southern love of a little twist to the story that made them that expensive and actually the fact that they really were real keys.
This year we didn’t hit the main spots down the Alabama portion of 411, but Polly, Mimi and I did meet up in Cave Spring and manage to find some neat things amongst the piles of old plates and boxes of clothes and gardening tools.
